Wolves win the UTL Peewee A Championship
Wolves pulled out a heart stopping 3-2 win in quadruple OT today over South Grenville in their 3rd game of the day on the canal.
A tight contest throughout, the game was decided on a penalty shot in the 4th OT period, with Keegan potting the winner to seal the deal. If you took a penalty in the 3rd or in OT, then a penalty shot was awarded instead of sending someone to serve a penalty. We were winning the game with 20 seconds left in the 3rd when we took a penalty and the opposing squad scored to tie it on the penalty shot. So, it was kind of like karma for us when we scored the same way in OT to win it. Up to that point, we had absolutely dominated the 8 minutes of OT.
These beauts were full value for this tournament win, playing lights out defence while continuously lighting the lamp at the offensive goal. 5-0 on the tourney, while scoring 23 goals and giving up 7, these kids gave it their all. Especially with each OT going the full two minutes without changes allowed.
Marcus was strong in net while Liam P, Linc, Colton and Jack held up the back end all tournament long.
Making quick work of the opposition was Nate Dog, Josh, Carter, Samuel, James & Keegan.

Next action for this group is Tuesday night at 7 in Keene vs those pesky Ennismore lads.
Then we visit Ennismore on Thursday for an 8 pm game., followed by a visit to Percy on Friday for an 8 pm tilt. Practice on Saturday in Keene, followed by an afternoon game in Havelock at 4:30 on Sunday and another game at home on Monday at 7 pm vs Percy. Then we practice the following Tues at 8 pm. Looks like a lot of puck for us.
Next tournament action is Sat Feb 18 in Stirling. Opponents TBD.
